That editorial page doesn’t know what it’s for or against…it just knows it has to be different than what it was because of its owner.
The Washington Post Editorial Board was fine with Republicans gerrymandering in Texas. But when Democrats responded in Virginia, it’s a “power grab” that “plunges America deeper into the gerrymandering abyss.”

It bums me out because this place has been a big thing to me for going on 15 years, but I’m going to migrate to the other place and try to spend less time here. Same handle. Same bad takes. #eviltwinbeernames

The Gaetz nomination is so off-the-wall that I half believe he's sacrificial so Senate R's will gave an easier time confirming all the other questionable picks, having shown their independence by icing Gaetz.

Can you imagine a future where successful college grads work in the federal government for awhile, but then take lucrative jobs in finance and defense contracting? Truly, through Trump we can make this fantasy a reality.
If we succeed in achieving our objectives at DOGE, I expect that a higher % of the nation’s smartest & most ambitious graduates will end up working in the government, for finite periods of time, instead of just flocking to Silicon Valley & Wall Street. This will be a good thing.

It's just weird that we have dozens of Trump beat reporters who track the hundreds of people who are 'in or out' of Trump's orbit yet they never touch on the fact that his marriage to Melania is basically over or who he's dating now x.com/MSNBC/status/185673724…

He promised madness, looting, revenge and autocracy and he got a mandate for them. Here we go. This is indeed the American Brexit: a devastating self-inflicted wound that will take at least a generation to heal.

this seems like a pretty good example of a moment when democrats should try to not take for granted how moderate republicans will vote and should try not to antagonize them.
I'm sure Susan Collins will find the decision to confirm Matt Gaetz a very painful one.

I’m looking at a House Republican who is laughing so hard in a group of members that he’s wiping away tears
Safe to say that GOP senators are stunned - not in a good way - on Matt Gaetz for Attorney General

House Republicans have so been shocked to learn that Trump has selected Matt Gaetz to be his AG— "I got really no good comment" GOP Rep. Don Bacon said. House Appropriations Chair Tom Cole said "I know nothing about it."

FYI we don’t need a Department of Government Efficiency. We already have one. @USGAO - the Government Accountability Office (GAO, est. 1921) - saves $133 for every $1 of funding it receives! If all GAO recommendations were implemented, the financial benefit could be >$200 bil.

It's just a fact that if a Dem president nominated a guy with this background to be Sec Def it would be a major scandal and controversy. But because GOP immorality is completely normalized at this point I would be shocked if it makes any difference. (The article is from 2018.)

Outside of this leaderboard idea, much of what Musk describes here can currently be found at: federalregister.gov regulations.gov reginfo.gov

All actions of the Department of Government Efficiency will be posted online for maximum transparency. Anytime the public thinks we are cutting something important or not cutting something wasteful, just let us know! We will also have a leaderboard for most insanely dumb spending of your tax dollars. This will be both extremely tragic and extremely entertaining 🤣🤣
