Dogs FTW! 🐕
Detection dogs are sniffing out an invasive insect that has spread throughout 18 U.S. states. Researchers found the dogs were better than humans at detecting spotted lanternfly eggs in forests compared to vineyards. Read more 👇 wildlife.org/detection-dogs-…

Calling all our Black and/or Indigenous mammalogists! Do any of you 1) identify as a woman and 2) have routine access to live animals (i.e., work at a zoo or an animal sanctuary)? There might be a neat media opportunity for you. Get in touch! 🐾

Hey #ScienceTwitter if any of y'all are still out there - it would be good to start compiling a list of funders who will still support environmental justice and DEIJ efforts while NIH and NSF are being hampered. Please add resources if possible!

Cool footage of 2 bull moose sparring from just 2 weeks ago! And then toward the end of the sequence another small bull decides to join in the fun. All-in-all, some trail camera gold! We’ve only captured this on camera one other time so far. But this footage is much better than our other observation, in part, because the lighting was almost perfect in this video. Suffice it to say, we were pretty excited to capture this footage. In total, the moose were in front of the camera for 14 minutes but we condensed it down to the highlights here. A fair portion of the videos were the bulls just standing there staring at each other.
