👉 The statement outlines that sustainable bioenergy can make a crucial contribution to climate change mitigation, inclusive and just energy transitions, energy security and rural development, improved farmer incomes and job creation.

Bioenergy represents more than half of the renewable energy supply today. Sustainable bioenergy, which can be combined with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), is a crucial means to keep global warming below 1.5 °C by the end of the century.”
