Quite fitting that I've just walked past the statue of Suffragist Millicent Garrett Fawcett in Parliament Square as all the TV cameras were setting up.
Get out and vote tomorrow!

It's Disability Pride Month and if there's one thing that I'd love for it to achieve would be for more people to educate themselves on ableism and 'Assume that I Can' rather than assume that I (and other disabled people) can't.

Itβs particularly rewarding to see our heritage trainees increase their knowledge and skills in this area and become passionate about it themselves." Coincidence of the day yesterday - totally immersed on a train from London King's Cross reading @robinhobb Assassin's Fate for the umpteenth time. This section of the story is about the liveship 'Paragon'. Get off the train at Grantham and notice the train's name... Paragon π
Delighted to have been immortalised by @chapplecartoons as 'Bionic Bev the brilliant accessibility nag' at @MemberWise#DX2024 today. I'm hoping that at least a few of the delegates will have been inpspired to start their own digital accessibility journeys π¦Ύ

What a surreal day presenting on the digital accessibility panel at @MemberWise Digital Excellence Conference in London where I was immortalised in cartoon format!

Imagine wearing a bionic arm daily for 3 years and then being told you have to undergo a trial to prove to the NHS that youβre a good candidate for the technology and wait upto 2 years. Bev is one of many NHS patients that have been turned away despite the policy change. ππ€―
How can this be right @NHSEngland ? Despite wearing a @openbionics multi grip hand for 3 YEARS I now have to join a 2 yr waiting list to then have to trial 2 multi grip hands. This is a total waste of money. Why should I have to prove myself AGAIN? You're disabling me #disability
@NHSEngland it was agreed with @openbionics that existing #HeroArm users would not have to go through trials as they had already successfully demonstrated that they could use them. Why is Nottingham Limb Centre taking this stance? It's costing you MORE money!

Really pleased that the owners have been ordered to rebuild the Crooked House, but there should be a stipulation that a building preservation trust should lead, or be involved right from the outset.

Absolutely delighted that I've been accepted onto the Oxford Cultural Leaders programme in April.
What a great opportunity to (in their words) 'challenge and redefine my identity as a leader in the arts and culture sector'. Even the application form was a learning opportunity!
Anticipation builds as we prepare to welcome our next online cohort (22-26 April), joined by esteemed faculty members @PegramOxford, Nelisha Wickremasinghe, @michael_smets, Lizzie Palmer, Samenua Sesher, @richove, Paul Smith, @prm_laurita & @AlexBeardROH. buff.ly/3GOR7UN
Well I never... I switch on the telly and see none other than @velohistorian talking about a mysterious object found at Norton Disney! Now officially famous Richard.
