Preparing to return to work can bring up strong emotions for many parents. Extending yourself some grace and self compassion as you navigate these challenges can help make the transition a little easier. #gentlebirthapp#compassion

18 institutions out of over 100 chosen. Despite several appeals, St. Patrick's Guild, the biggest adoption agency, which also arranged US and illegal adoptions, was excluded. Illegal adoption was excluded. 500 people testified out of over 100k #motherandbabyhomes@AdoptionStories
In 1998 I used to visit a teenage friend from home who’d been placed in a catholic home for pregnant girls so the family wouldn’t have to deal with the shame. I was her only visitor. I ended up being with her for the birth. 1988. Not 1940. Not 1930. 1988.
One thing that should be kept in mind about the Mother and Baby home report is that it only covered a sample of 18 institutions.
There were many more in Ireland.
There were thousands more victims who weren’t included in the report and will likely never have their stories told.
