email/smtp is totally broken as a protocol.
the only way to fix email, and asynchronous comms more broadly, is to require upfront micropayments to send and receive data.
strip all the metadata, encrypt it all #BisonRelay

Bison are the only animal that turn into a snowstorm rather than away from it because they instinctively know that walking into the storm will get them out of the weather quicker. There may be a life lesson for humans in this. It also makes for some epic pictures.

So it's really cool that X Community Notes warn me about misleading ads, but the whole setup still diverts my most valuable asset: attention. The "free" internet has its own hidden costs, measured in time and attention
This is a side road we could bypass altogether. The real game-changer could be microtransactions, offering a more direct route to reward content and obviate need for ads
Keeping an eye on promising projects like Bison Relay that aim to revolutionize how we spend our attention online. Still early development but promising direction

the bridge between #BisonRelay and matrix is getting close to its first milestone. we have bidirectional comms working, and are working out remaining issues with UTF-8 emoticons (CLDR) and recovering from bridge outages.
