The last time I was in Kenya wasn’t entirely Bitcoin related. This time is different. I’m heading to Kenya next week and plan to make the most of my stay by exploring as much of the local Bitcoin ecosystem as possible. Here’s my current checklist: @btcplusplus Open Source Edition, of course. Reconnect with the teams at @tando_me, @minmo_to, and @bitika_KE. Visit the newly launched @NodeNBO. I’m sure I’m missing a lot. Any recommendations for Bitcoin only activities, communities, or builders I should connect with? I’d love to learn from the Kenyan ecosystem and bring ideas back to help strengthen our community in Mauritius 🇲🇺.

I’ve never been this excited about Bitcoin and open source until starting @osguildHQ. We’re building a new contributor experience: CLI agents that support the open-source journey, a structured 6-week onboarding pathway, and a pay-as-you-learn model that rewards quality PRs. We’re also developing an integrated knowledge graph tailored to the projects contributors want to work on making discovery, learning, and contribution significantly more accessible. The goal is simple: reduce friction and unlock a new generation of Bitcoin open-source builders.

Next week, the Q2 pathways are set to begin. 🚀 This quarter, developers will be joining Rust for Bitcoiners and Language Clubs. Rust for Bitcoiners 🦀 is designed for developers who want to deepen their Rust skills. The pathway focuses on building the Rust knowledge needed to engage with Bitcoin projects, with curated resources, structured weekly progress, and support from peers and faculty along the way. Language Clubs focuses on strengthening programming fluency in languages commonly used in Bitcoin development. The pathway helps developers build the language foundations that make meaningful open‑source contribution possible later on. Participants work through curated learning tracks while learning alongside peers in a supportive environment. Both pathways emphasize peer learning, structured progress, and practical skill development. We’ll also be using the hybrid engagement model designed to support more developers without compromising the learning experience. Each pathway will be running in two formats: a live cohort and a self‑paced track, giving developers more flexibility in how they participate while still benefiting from the Builders community. To learn more about the pathways and join our community, start here: btrust.tech/builders/apply Apply to join the waitlist for future cohorts here: btrust.homerun.co/btrust-bui…

Throwing it back to our 2025 Year in Review. 2025 was about strengthening the foundation for decentralized Bitcoin development across Africa and the broader Global Majority. After several years of experimentation and iteration, the year marked a shift toward more structured execution; deepening the programs, partnerships, and systems that support open‑source contributors across the Bitcoin ecosystem. Throughout the year, we focused on building and strengthening the developer pipeline, from discovery and education to mentorship, grants, and long‑term contribution opportunities. Across our initiatives, more than 3,800 developers engaged with Btrust programs and ecosystem activities.

@rawBit_io has been one of the most practical tools I’ve used to understand Bitcoin transactions. After a few weeks of hands-on use, the learning clarity is undeniable. It enables visual transaction building, live byte level inspection, and step-by-step script execution with a stack view. We’re looking to adopt it at @osguildHQ and @BitDevsMRU to strengthen hands-on Bitcoin education.
