Forget the Lambo. Bitcoin Is a Panda.
This weekend I was at the
@BitcareForum , representing
@bringinxyz , a room full of people building better solutions for a better money. But the thing I keep coming back to wasn't said on any stage. It was parked outside.
A Fiat Panda. And on it, a sign:
"Fuck your lambo. Bitcoin is Panda."
I couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the conference.
For years, the punchline has been the lambo, the moonshot, the exit, the flashy reward for being early. Get in, get rich, get out.
That's the speculator's dream, and it's the story most people still think Bitcoin is about.
The Panda says the opposite. It's the least glamorous car in Italy. Cheap, humble, It doesn't impress anyone at a stoplight. It just works for decades and takes you exactly where you need to go.
That little car turned out to be the most honest summary of the whole weekend.
The people who actually build
Because what struck me, walking the floor, is how unglamorous, how Panda, the real work actually is.
There was education at the foundation. Bitcoin valley in Rovereto, where since 2015 Marco Amadori and the
@inbitcoin crew have onboarded merchants, bars and hotels until the town became one of the most Bitcoin-dense places on earth, a town where you can live on Bitcoin.
There was
@bitpolito , the student-led team out of Politecnico di Torino, now behind Italy's first university-level training program for Bitcoin developers. Quiet, patient work building the knowledge layer one student at a time.
On top of that, the builders of safety.
@BitvaultApp and
@lianabitcoin , working on security, privacy and inheritance, so your savings, your privacy and your family's future stay intact across time.
And then us.
@bringinxyz a way to actually live on Bitcoin, the way most people probably will in a not-so-distant future.
None of this is the lambo. All of it is the Panda.
The choice any tax can't kill
The best part wasn't the stages. It was talking face to face, hearing the real pains, the real beliefs, the real needs.
And what fascinated me most is this: even with one of the most punishing tax regimes in Europe, Italy now taxes Bitcoin capital gains at 33% and people still choose the better money. Why?
Because once you truly understand money, the choice isn't about returns. It's about a money no one can counterfeit. No one can debase. No one can confiscate. No one can stop you from sending to anyone, anywhere, without permission.
A 33% tax on your gains is the state asking for a third of your time and energy. People are choosing sound money anyway. That tells you everything.
Living on Bitcoin, today
This is the part we're building. We just launched our new app, better UI, better experience where moving between Bitcoin and euros feels as simple as any bank app you already use, except you're using a better money.
Right now, with
@bringinxyz you can:
1. Swap Bitcoin to euros and back over Lightning, in seconds
2. Pay anywhere Visa is accepted, straight from your Bitcoin savings
3. Connect your bank to your Bitcoin wallet without anyone knowing, not even the banks
4. Use your Bitcoin everywhere it's accepted, and everywhere it isn't
And much more is coming. The truly good part is still ahead.
Be the Panda
The conference wasn't full of people waiting for the lambo. It was full of people building the Panda, the humble, durable, reliable thing you actually use, that lasts, that doesn't need to impress anyone to do its job.
That's what better money looks like. Not a moonshot. A tool you can hand to your kids.
Forget the lambo. Be the Panda.
