What does it take to sustain open-source development in Africa and the Global South?
Earlier today,
@Murugi___ shared her insights on the important, and often unseen, work happening across the ecosystem.
What many don’t see is the human layer of Bitcoin: the developers, reviewers, maintainers, and community builders whose work keeps the network resilient.
She also highlighted how developers help turn Bitcoin from a protocol into usable, everyday experiences like wallets, self-custody tooling, and the products people actually interact with.
That's why decentralization can't stop at the code. We need builders from more places, especially those who understand local realities and struggles, shaping the tools that bring Bitcoin to the next billion users.
We’re proud to support this work by creating sustainable pathways for contributors and strengthening the ecosystem.
