Land should not be used for a 600MW data centre that industrialises the landscape for decades undermines nature recovery. Scotland needs biodiversity and food security. Completely incompatible w net zero policy btw.
The residents of Auchtertool in Fife are campaigning against a monster AI data centre that is being planned next to their village.
It’s estimated that the 600MW energy consumption with be 20% of Scotland entire energy consumption.
Two tier industry and production strategy by the Labour government:
▪️Carbon tax on fertilisers for farmers.
▪️Massive energy and water consuming data centres (often in prime farmland) for the tech giants.

I wrote a tribute to #CarloPetrini, late founder of the global #slowfood movement active in over 160 countries, & how his influence lives across Scotland's kitchens, allotments, markets, menus and minds - & changed how we think about food bit.ly/3PMv74X@BiteMagazine
