You might be looking at this picture and thinking, why am I wearing a hat from Vietnam while standing in a villa in Greece?
Well, let me tell you...
When you build a business, the difference between success and failure often comes down to the people you know.
Of course, you need sales and money. But it’s the people you meet who can help you get those things and push your business to new and exciting places.
Most of the biggest successes I’ve had in the 12 years I’ve been growing my business happened because of the different people I met along the way.
Sometimes, it takes a long time—months or even years—to see how helpful a relationship can be. And sometimes, it’s not the person you know directly but someone they introduce you to who makes a big difference.
It’s essential to have a group of different people from all sorts of backgrounds in your network of contacts.
The people I know have helped me win lucrative contracts, appear on TV, find new business opportunities, and make lifelong friends.
Without my network, I might have failed a long time ago.
If you’re still reading this, you’re probably wondering, But what about the hat?
Okay, a few weeks ago, I was in Kea, Greece, for KEANAISSANCE. It was a special event where many amazing business people from all over the world came together.
I met many wonderful people there, including some from Vietnam. They were some of the kindest and most positive people I’ve ever met.
It was boiling in Kea, and the sun was intense. These kind people gave me this hat to help keep me cool. I love wearing it in the sun now!
My Point? You never know who you’ll meet and how you might help each other. I think it’s always best to be excited and open-minded when meeting new people.
Who knows where it might take you?
