Meet Guest Speakers for Oct. 11th Zoom discussion... Dr. Reddy, Kevon Allen, and Zoey Days
ALT Bio of Guest Speaker; Dr. Sumanth Reddy is an Assistant Professor of Geography in the Department of History and Government at Bowie State University, Maryland. Even though teaching is his passion, he is equally passionate about exposing students to experiential learning opportunities such as conference attendance, in-country travel, and study abroad. Dr. Reddy has traveled to 45 countries and 44 U.S. states for conferences, research, backpacking, camping, and hiking.
ALT Bio of Guest Speaker;
Kevon Allen is an Elementary Education major who aspires to teach 3rd to 6th graders with unique curriculum infusing pop culture and the interest of students into the classroom. He went on the trip to see more of the world’s wonders and people as well as gain new experiences, dune boarding specifically.
ALT Bio of Guest Speaker; Hello, my name is Zoey Days and I am a Biology major here at Bowie state. As of now I would like to pursue a career in histology after I graduate and possibly go back to school to be a veterinarian a little later. I wanted to go on the 4 corners trip because I saw what a great opportunity and experience it would be. Not just a great experience for me, but a great experience for HBCU students and female students at that. The trip helped eliminate the stigma that “black people don't go camping”. Overall, this trip was a really great experience and we got to see things that a lot of us probably wouldn’t have if not given this opportunity.
Join HBCU Bowie State University's assistant professor of geography, Dr. Reddy and students Kevon Allen and Zoey Days as they share their 2000-mile camping and hiking journey into the National Parks. Oct. 11th at 7pm ET/6pm CT/4pm PT; REGISTER: bit.ly/3RJ9Qo0
