An updated version of the Stack cropping and rotation macro for Imagej/Fiji is out! This free script allows cropping of a rotated Region-Of-Interest (ROI) and down-scaling of results to a user-defined stack size. And it comes with a GUI!

Amazing to see the final product of an amazing project that members of the @DNArthropods lab first heard of (and saw the work while in the field) back in 2019! @Peter_Th_R is sharing his HUGE dataset of insect bite force measurements at #ICE2022

The ability to ‘bite hard’ is beneficial for crushing food & winning in fights but is costly. @Peter_Th_R & @BlankeLab at @UniBonn present a mobile system for measuring & analysing small animal bite force to learn more about their evolution. Read more: britishecologicalsociety.org…

Today I had the great pleasure to meet @AnthonyHerrel @Le_Museum and get some salamander bite force data to compare with my insect measurements! All snakes failed to cooperate though 😋 🦎✅ 🐝✅ 🐍❌

Sucking #millipedes: Similar to some insects and other arthropods, millipedes ingest liquid food using a sucking pump. Sucking pumps has thus evolved independently in different groups of arthropods. See publication: science.org/doi/10.1126/scia… #MuseumKoenig @UniBonn
