John Agard poetry recital at West Library Pupils attended a special event at the West Library. It was in celebration of Windrush Day, and the pupils were treated to recital performances from John Agard himself, who is a renowed Caribbean Poet and Author.

Wintershall actors visited Blessed Sacrament in costume to perform scenes from ‘The Life of Christ’ as 20-minute drama. They also shared their experiences of acting out the Gospels, highlighting links with Christian virtues. Children listened exceptionally well asking questions.

Knife Crime and Gang Youth Violence Workshop Marcel Campbell from Integrated Gangs Team Islington led a workshop with parents and pupils in St Martin class about gang youth violence. It was great to see so many parents attend the coffee morning, and the pupils were very engaged.

Caritas Ambassadors and Imagining Futures pupils attended Westminster Cathedral for the Caritas Ambassador’s festival on Friday. The pupils were present for the liturgy led by Cardinal Vincent Nichols and Bishop Paul McAleenan and met other Caritas Ambassadors!

Pupils in KS2 took part in a letter writing workshop as part of the GameChanger Grants, which is a new initiative from the Mayor of London. This grant giving programme supports youth-led community action projects making positive change in our school and community @MayorofLondon
The pupils in Key Stage 2 had a fantastic time visiting Senate House for the Bloomsbury Science Festival. They took part in a variety of exciting and inspirational STEM workshops around the theme, ‘Breathe’. Thank you to @bloomsburyfest for a wonderful day.
Pope Francis calls us to give ourselves in service to others. Once again, our school community has shown its generosity and deep concern for those less fortunate. We are extremely grateful for your food gifts which we will be sharing with the Blessed Sacrament Foodbank.

We were delighted to receive a visit from popular children’s author @HumzaProduction of the best-selling Little Bad Man series. The pupils listened to an inspiring talk from Humza on how he became a writer and what his inspirations are. A massive thank you @Literacy_Trust 📚

we were all treated to a special reading from his first book ‘Little Bad Man and the Invasion of the Killer Aunties’. We received some copies of all three titles in the series, signed by the author. We are very pleased to be taking part in the Get Islington Reading project!
