I always vote, because my immigrant parents taught me what an important right (and privilege) it is.
I cast this vote as a scientist, and also for my kids and for the right to the healthcare I needed and was fortunate to get when I had a miscarriage in 2006.

As part of my appointment as Chair of @UofUGenetics, we will be launching a multi-year effort to recruit faculty with innovative research programs that complement and build upon our strengths in computational, developmental, disease, and evolutionary genetics. Stay tuned.
When I started grad school in 2004, I never could have imagined I would write the following sentence. I am honored and thrilled to be the Chairperson of Human Genetics @UUtah!
