Here’s my take on @LucaNetz meeting since I hadn’t shared it yet. Luca brought NFT founders together and gave real advice on how to lead and manage collections. From my perspective it was a strong initiative because the conversation touched on things a lot of founders need right now: monetization, marketing, community, expectations and leadership. For the people asking what happened with @illaDaProducer here’s the context. Someone brought up the tweet one of Yuga’s employees made about two other individuals and my take was simple: don’t throw stones at someone else’s house when your own house is made of glass. I had a heated moment with illa because everyone knows Yuga made mistakes in the past. A lot of people still feel like they got rugged especially on the gaming side of the ecosystem. That hurt pushed a lot of people out of NFTs and some of them never wanted to come back. But at the end of the day I see Yuga as the Harvey Dent of The Dark Knight. We all know Harvey wasn’t perfect. We all know how broken he became. But Batman still took the heat because Gotham needed a symbol. Gotham needed someone people could believe in and Batman knew he wasn’t the right person for that role. In a weird way the NFT space needs its Harvey Dent. It needs a symbol people can believe in again. Yuga made mistakes but they still have one of the biggest stages in Web3. Whether people like it or not they have the platform, resources and responsibility to help rebuild trust. And if they choose to lead the right way they can help bring belief back to NFTs. This space doesn’t need more division. It needs accountability, leadership, and a reason to believe again.

It’s a step toward making the Club feel more tangible, more connected, and easier to immerse in. IRL is the Alpha Over the last few weeks, Apes have been mobilizing across the globe through regional meetups, bringing local chapters together in ways that actually matter. We spent 4/20 weekend with Snoop and Dr. Bombay, giving a group of Apes a member-only moment you can’t replicate online. These moments pull people closer together, create and strengthen real bonds, and push the energy of the Club forward. We say Bored Ape, You say Yacht Club We’ve also been thinking about what it actually means to be a Yacht Club - not just the name, but the feeling behind it. That’s starting to take shape. From here on out, you’ll see it show up more clearly in our apparel, our collaborations, and an aesthetic that finally does the Yacht Club name justice. Five years in, and we’re not slowing down. Some news to share: After serving as CEO the past couple years, I’m moving into the role of Chairman of the Board, and @mfigge will become Yuga’s next CEO. Figge is the absolute best person for the job. There’s no one I trust more to lead Yuga through this next chapter. He’s relentless about product quality, he thinks longterm, and he knows how to take a vision and make it real. His work on Otherside the past year is proof of that, and you haven’t seen the half of it. And I’ve loved watching Figge get his hands dirty in the world of BAYC over the last few weeks. The club is better for it. Creative direction, writing, and figuring out insane ideas is still where I do my best work. And with Figge taking over the CEO role, I get to go back to it. I can’t wait for what Yuga builds next.

A few weeks ago I stepped up and became CEO at Yuga. I joined BAYC in June 2021. Anyone who was around back then will never forget that ride: Doggo airdrop, mutant mint, casino night, and the first Apefest - it was a slingshot out of the pandemic and into a new frontier. Over the past year I’ve been sharpening the focus on Otherside. As CEO, my goal is to extend that discipline across all of Yuga. BAYC is the best club on the internet. The Club needs to be part of your world, not just your timeline. We’ll be doing way more stuff together as a club - meetups, moments, access, apparel. I see all of this guided by three pillars: IRL, Storytelling, and Style. While I’m handling operations, I’m excited that Garga will be freed up to be going deeper on the BAYC creative and world-building he’s always been best at. With Otherside, we’re developing a world class social platform for digital ownership and crypto. People will explore Otherdeeds, compete for resources, and build their own experiences. To win, we’re going to need to grow our user base a lot, and prove how every community can succeed in Otherside. We’ve made a lot of progress over the last few weeks and I’m stoked to show you, there’s a lot more ahead.
