4th grade field trip to see the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at Music Hall. We had great seats in the gallery and enjoyed the Young Peoples Concert, "Lead the Way." Thank you to the Montgomery Women's Club for sponsoring this cultural event every year!
ALT I love being a music teacher. I love seeing the joy music brings to people. I love seeing the friendships music brings to people. I love seeing the comfort music brings to people. I love seeing music bring out the very best in people. I love it. It’s such an amazing thing to do.
Thank you to our Blue Ash PTO for purchasing new music staff dry erase boards! Third graders were practicing writing their own recorder melodies this week.
ALT Music isn’t a 2nd class subject, music teachers aren’t 2nd class teachers, and music isn’t just a nice little extra. Music is core, music is fundamental to a holistic and meaningful education, and music teachers make such a positive and lifelong impact on the lives of so many.
Every morning students will stop me in the hallway and say, "We have music today!" Here are the ones that stopped me this morning. It makes me happy to know that my class is enjoyable and that kids are looking forward to learning with me.
I love having my students dance on the gray winter days...
Dancing has been proven to improve psychological well-being, build self confidence and social skills. Of course there are many musical benefits as well!
"I'll run and run as fast as I can. You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!" Second graders performing The Gingerbread Man for Kindergarteners this week.
Singing games not only build singing skills but also memory, concentration, coordination, body rhythm, and social skills. Also, they are just plain fun!
