Chelsea FC is enormously saddened by the huge loss of life following last weekend’s attacks on Israel. We stand with the Jewish community in London and around the world in the face of the rising tide of antisemitism, which we have long campaigned against.   We will join with our fellow Premier League clubs in remembering all the innocent lives lost in Israel and Gaza in recent days at Stamford Bridge when we play Arsenal.

For someone as brilliant as Eden Hazard on the pitch, it’s his off-pitch persona that makes him darling of the fans. The guy was very genuine, very positive, always smiling and laughing, jovial and pranky. The injuries and consequent absences at Real Madrid showed us the Eden who’d slowly stopped smiling as much as he was and you could even see the sadness in his eyes. Now that he’s retired, hoping to see that Hazard that was at Chelsea - chirpy, bubbly, playful. Happy Hazard is the best Hazard.

Chelsea should have won more trophies during the Hazard years. His seven seasons were also probably the most turbulent times in terms of managerial changes. If I’m right, Hazard has played under Di Matteo, Benitez, Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Antonio Conte, Sarri in those seven years. With just a little more stability, we perhaps could have. That Hazard didn’t get to win the Champions League with Chelsea would always be a disappointment for me. Glad that he could fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid and finally lay his hands on the UCL trophy.

Heartfelt thanks and best wishes to @hazardeden10. What a legend. Privileged to have watched him live and have experienced his magic. No one has thrilled and excited me on the pitch like Eden did. Really hope he is involved with @ChelseaFC in some shape or form in the future.

Contrasting second half with some smart performances from Chelsea especially from Sterling, Palmer and Cucurella. So that’s three back to back wins. And a win with a scoreline of 4-1 is always good for the confidence. But let’s remember that our best performances in the premier league have come against teams that are now 17th and 18th in the premier league. The month after the international break will be quite defining for this young Chelsea squad. Also, important to note that some injured players such as James and Carney may become available for this tricky period. While those are some tough fixtures, also remember that our struggles have mostly come from low block teams while next half a dozen opponents or so won’t be playing low block. I’d say I’m quietly confident that we will get a ‘decent return’ from next 8 games.

If this is what Sterling can do after a rollicking from me, I’d do this every matchday.

What a terribly uninspiring half. Was like watching Chelsea when Lampard was caretaker manager. Such a bore. What’s with our keeper and defence playing keep-ball among themselves with seemingly no intention to progress the attack. It’s fitting that the lucky equaliser came through an own goal. Burnley aren’t that impenetrable that our defence has to make a dozen plus consecutive passes among themselves. Instead of wasting the time that way, they might as well hoof it up top and see what happens with our tall striker. For the second half, I’ll bring Maatsen in for Silva and move Colwill to CB. In the attack, will bring Jackson for Broja. Poor guy Broja is not going to be fed with any meaningful balls. Instead of killing his confidence, will bring Jackson whose playstyle is more involved and he can drop back to fight for the ball. Also, Mudryk should be on for Sterling. Thanks for the lucky own goal because if it was not intercepted, it would have got wasted anyway as our crosses never find any of our attackers. Apart from that moment, there’s no promise in Sterling’s play. Bring on Mudryk and see how the entire attack livens up for us to score and bwin this game.

Consecutive wins! But we can’t have nice things, can we? Mudryk, Broja and Caicedo going out injured sucked all the joy from a solid performance and much awaited result in the premier league for Chelsea. Hoping Mudryk was pulled as a precautionary move while Caicedo seems like he should be fine. Waiting for an update on Broja. It’s not often I look forward to an international break. With our ever growing injury list, I wouldn’t mind a break of couple of weeks from club football. Back to the game, Chelsea did exactly what hoped they wouldn’t - invite pressure in the process of holding on to the lead. Perhaps the subbing out of Mudryk and Broja changed the plans. Another top performance from Cucurella as the right back. How can one struggle in their natural position and churn out 8/10 performances while playing out of position that too on the unnatural side. Gallagher put in a tireless shift as always. Apart from Mudryk, these two are probably our best players tonight. Enzo was being Enzo but it’s high he had practised finishing. Could have easily had 5-10 goals to his name with Chelsea if he had buried those not-so-difficult chances. Another win this weekend would be just perfect. In the next couple of weeks of international break, we could expect certain players (Carney, Badiashile etc) becoming available. Finally, when Chelsea can breathe, the toughest 6 weeks will be ahead of us.

When was the last time Chelsea went into half time with a 2-0 lead? Guess nearly a year ago. Mudryk’s first goal has been coming since he began getting starts. And this is exactly how I had imagined his debut goal would be. It had to have this style and flamboyance. Much like his pre-season goal against Brighton. The best thing about Mudryk’s goal is that he’d now be getting a longer run of starts after which I’m certain he will make himself undroppable. Broja had a good start too. It shows that he hasn’t played much with his team mates, as he doesn’t seem to be in sync but he could score another tonight. And this is why Palmer should start. He’s the creative spark in the team now. He’s the Enzo of the attacking third. Solid work defence-wise. Hope we keep the clean sheet. I hope we don’t try to hold on to this two goal lead and invite pressure from the home team. Instead, it does look like Fulham are there for the taking. Gotta go for the third and fourth goal.

My starting XI for tonight’s game vs Fulham. As you can see, trying my best to keep Silva and Sterling away from the starting eleven. Getting Maatsen in so Colwill can play CB. Bringing Palmer so Enzo can play in midfield. Cucu deserves a start for his mad performance in the second half against Brighton. #Chelsea #CFC
