One thing that’s for certain from this playoff run. The Blue Jays are the biggest team in Major League Baseball and it’s not particularly close. Baseball runs through Toronto.

The 2025 Blue Jays had an identity. Platoon bats, eveyone had a role, great defence, did the little things right. Next man up mentality.
The 2026 Jays are trying to reproduce that same identity with players who are miscast for those roles. It’s like expecting your cat to bark.

I love John Schneider and I think he’s a good manager but it’s pretty clear this year that he’s missing the veteran presence of a guy like Don Mattingly to bounce ideas off of.
