Nobody warns a younger man about caulk. The bead around your tub has a shelf life, and once it gives up, water spends months sneaking behind the wall before you ever notice the damage.

The most expensive sound in my house was also the quietest. A toilet that ran for two seconds at random times. I ignored it for months. The water bill eventually sat me down and explained it.

Took me three houses to figure this out: a crack in the driveway isn't a cosmetic thing. It's a little funnel, walking rainwater straight toward the one place you really don't want it going.

🖼️ Most people hang everything too high — and the whole room feels off. Here are the heights pros actually use: ✅ Art: Center at 57–60” from floor ✅ Mirrors: 6–10” above furniture ✅ Art above sofa: 6–8” above backrest ✅ Curtains: Rod 4–6” above window (or near ceiling) ✅ Floating shelves: 10–12” above furniture ✅ TVs: Center near seated eye level The biggest mistake? Measuring from the ceiling instead of the room. Bookmark this before you grab the drill. 🔨

My dad taught me you fix what you can, you don’t whine about what you can’t, and you always leave a place better than you found it. Spent my whole life trying to live up to a man with a worn-out body and a whole lot of patience.

Nobody hands you a manual when you buy a house. I figured most of it out the hard way. Start small: know your shutoff, your breaker panel, your filter size. You don't need to be a contractor. You just need to stop feeling lost in your own house. Follow Blue Ridge Co.

🎨 The wrong paint sheen can make a fresh wall look cheap. Matte hides flaws, satin wipes clean, semi-gloss takes a beating — here's where each belongs. Save this before your next paint run. 📌
