Who Are You is from the 1978 album of the same name, the last album recorded with drummer Keith Moon, who died a few weeks after its release. Released as a single, the track reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of The Who's biggest hits. Years later, a version of the song was chosen as the opening theme of the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which revived the success for new generations and kept the song alive to this day.

It was late 1981 when The Human League released what would become the definitive synth-pop anthem: โ€œDonโ€™t You Want Me.โ€ The curious thing is that the lead singer, Phil Oakey, detested the final mix; he considered it too โ€œpopโ€ and commercial, going so far as to relegate it to the bottom of side B of the album Dare. However, the vision of producer Martin Rushent and the masterful use of the Linn LM-1 drum machine created a piece of impeccable sonic architecture that reached number one in the UK Christmas season, marking the beginning of the โ€œSecond British Invasion.โ€ ๐ŸŽน๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

โ€œSledgehammerโ€ is the biggest hit of Peter Gabrielโ€™s solo career and his only #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 (1986). Its revolutionary music video, directed by Stephen R. Johnson, featured groundbreaking stop-motion, claymation, and pixilation work by Aardman Animations (the Wallace & Gromit studio) and the Brothers Quay. Gabriel spent a grueling 16 hours lying motionless under a glass plate while animators worked frame-by-frame around him. The entire shoot was an exhausting, week-long production. The result? It won a record 9 awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards (including Video of the Year) and remains the most played music video in MTV history.

"Dreaming" is the opening track of the album Eat to the Beat (1979), Blondie fourth album and the first after the breakout of Parallel Lines. Chris Stein admitted years later that the song was "almost a copy" of ABBA's "Dancing Queen" groove, he wanted that same uplifting, dancing atmosphere. Released as a lead single in September 1979, it reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart (one of the band's biggest hits to date) and #27 on the Billboard Hot 100, paving the way for the even greater success of Atomic (from the same album) and Call Me.
