Asante is current SMOB @NateTinbite's chief of staff and Tinbite, in turn, was the chief of staff to former SMOB Matt Post. Post gained national attention for his advocacy on gun control. Asante disputed in an interview at the time that this would give him an unfair advantage.

The Maryland State Department of Education released a full report a few days ago outlining what school could look like for the 2020-2021 school year. We'll outline their recommendations in a thread below. It outlines massive changes to schools that would enable social distancing.

This plan is only a recommendation, so school districts can and should alter it for their needs, Karen Salmon, the State Superintendent of Schools, said. It remains to be seen how MCPS and other school districts implement the guidance.

- Students who pass quarter four can choose “pass” or one letter grade higher than their Q3 grade to appear on their transcript.
- @MCPS has not decided how students who receive an “incomplete” for Q4 will report their second semester grade.
