Unbelievably, today, June 4, is 19 years(!) since first day of production on "How To Lose Friends & Alienate People" with #SimonPegg & #KirstenDunst. This picture taken moments before rolling camera on the first take of my debut as a feature director.
How's this for nostalgia? In 2006, I told #LarryDavid that there were a bunch of fake Larry Davids on MySpace. He asked how to get rid of them, so I took this pic to send to MySpace administrators. But I don't think I ever sent it. Is it too late?
WHEN LARRY MET WEIDE
This Variety article was mostly cribbed from a recent NY Times piece about #LarryDavid's 1983 script "Prognosis Negative" that would serve as the catalyst for us meeting, and eventually joining forces on #CurbYourEnthusiasm. variety.com/2026/tv/news/lar…
Stephen Miller in 2024. Another Republican Tweet, aging like fine wine, turned to vinegar. Thank you for your service, @StephenMiller. Can't wait for you to choke on your own bile, while facing up, you ghoul.
Today (Feb. 18) is Linda's 4th birthday in absentia. Fortunately, she loved me so well when she was here, that I can still feel it. 3 years after her departure, thoughts of her are more likely to bring a smile than tears. But man, what I would give to just hold her again. ❤️❤️❤️
Stating the obvious, but Harold & Maude is one of those "fine wine" films that not only isn't dated, but just gets better with age. Flawless performances by Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon. Hal Ashby's directing Colin Higgins' script = pure alchemy. This moment gets me every time.
Thank you for all the kind responses to my New Year's Eve post about my late wife, Linda. For those interested, here's a link to a 9-minute video I created for her memorial service in 2023. It includes a glimpse of my marriage proposal on NYE, 1997/98. youtube.com/watch?v=WKK-xjUo…
28 years ago tonight, New Year's Eve, 1997/98, I had a lot to drink and asked Linda Bates to marry me. Apparently, she said yes, because in July of '98, we went through with it. Best decision I ever made. Xmas Day, 2022, she left this world. But the love remains undiminished. xo
