My legislation which would toughen penalties for stealing from non-profit organizations passed the Senate Criminal Justice Committee today, its first of two Senate committee stops. SB732 also includes restitution to the victim, and up to 500 hours of community service.

I was honored today to receive a Legislative Appreciation Award from Florida’s 40-member Small County Coalition. Representing a large county, sometimes it’s easy to overlook the smaller ones on major issues. But a life of service means service to all Floridians, not just some.
