I understand the train of thought, but we were just here two years ago, and Painter has them positioned in theory for another deep run. Looking at what could be retained, what’s coming in, and the talent Purdue is in the running to land still, I have little doubt it wouldn’t be long before they would head into a season viewed as title contenders again. Purdue has become a “cool” school to recruits and a destination for older transfers that believe in winning first.
