@BoldonCC A team suffered a home defeat at the hands of @NewcastleCityCC yesterday.
Deciding to bowl first, things got off to a great start as Michael Forster's side reduced the visitors to 14 for 3, with Sam Pallas nipping a couple of wickets out - the first of which was ...
Oliver Pallas and Maddox Davison. Those two put on a great stand with Pallas falling agonisingly 7 runs short of what would have been a much-deserved century. His knock of 93 contained 12 fours and 2 sixes. Meantime at the other end Davison hit an excellent 44.
A great knock from the youngster 👏🏏.
In the end, the 255 target proved an insurmountable hurdle for Boldon and they were well short ... to the tune of 82 runs.
Bad luck lads, a valiant effort, but a step too far this time. 🦁🏏
This week's winners (drawn 14th June) of the @BoldonCC weekly beer draw were:
1st (10 pts): Ian Robson
2nd (7 pts): Ian Temple
3rd (5 pts): Andrew Robinson
Congrats to the above. If you'd like to take part in this club fundraiser - contact the bar for details. 🦁🏏🍻
Marlon Black's @BoldonCC 2nd team put in an excellent performance against @WillingtonCC yesterday as they put last week's rather soggy Burnopfield disappointment firmly behind them.
Having won the toss, Black inserted the opposition and almost immediately ...
Of the chase, with Kilner ably showing off his all-round abilities with a very well constructed 54. When he went, his pairing with Jude Nixon had borne 124 runs of fruit. Nixon himself played beautifully with shots all round the wicket. A model example of concentration and a ...
Lesson in blocking the good ones and hitting the not so good ones! He & the returning Byron Longstaff (18no) saw the game over the finish line with Nixon finishing unbeaten on 82. Well played sir!
A strong 8 wicket win for Boldon 2s who move onto Seaham Park next weekend. 🦁🏏👏
@BoldonCC 1st team made the long trip to @WillingtonCC yesterday and recorded a resounding win.
Having been asked to bat, Boldon's opening pair of Lucas Nixon and Chris Ellison had put on 65 before the former became the first of three wickets for Jake Louth. Nixon out for 27.
However, stubborn resistance came in the form of Joe Beagles (28) and Benele Cele (29) who took the score along to 90 before the final 5 wickets tumbled for just 9 runs. Willington all out 99 and Boldon home and dry by a considerable 173 cushion.
Wickets were shared around but the pick of the Boldon attack was Tom Nixon who bagged 3 for just 13 runs from his 9 over stint - nice work.👍
Well played lads and onto next week! 🦁🏏👏
The weekend is almost upon us, and @BoldonCC 1st & 2nd teams are in action tomorrow. The forecast looks promising & our sides face @WillingtonCC opposition. The 2nds are at home, whilst the 1st make the slightly longer trek to the Durham countryside!
ATB to both teams. 🦁🏏
A short and sweet one today, as we report that @BoldonCC 3rd XI fell to a heavy defeat last night at the hands of the visiting @HarbourSeaham
Having put their opponents in, Boldon's bowling department struggled to contain the firepower of McCarthy and Marwood ...
Boldon's Abinu and Tharuka (23 apiece) were the only relative bright spots on an otherwise gloomy horizon. Chasing 8s and over (and maintaining it) is a tough ask, and in the end, the innings petered out as James Hunter's side found themselves 44 adrift as the evening greyness ..
