A 4-year-old flaw in the Orchard privacy pool was caught by a researcher using AI. Patched June 2.
The real issue: Zcash's privacy design makes it impossible to verify whether counterfeit ZEC was minted before the fix. The team says it didn't happen. Nobody can prove it either way.
That's the core tension privacy coins carry.
