I'm old enough to remember when, growing up in Victoria, the uniparty demonised Pauline Hanson and her supporters so relentlessly that they were genuinely afraid for their safety. Week after week the ABC ran skits portraying her as racist and mocking her relationships and personal attributes. Jeff Kennett called her "feral".
