Excellent paper by @amelia_rnelson and @mj_wilkins looking at microbiological changes along an 11 year burn scar chronosequence. Thanks for a great collaboration!
My 3rd PhD chapter with @wilkinslab is now out in @ISMEComms! We use an 11 year wildfire burn scar chronosequence in CO/WY to discern whether different microbial life history strategies help taxa thrive/survive in burned soils 🦠🔥

Congratulations to Jacob, Yael and Marin on their great and well attended talks at the ACS meeting. Covering wildfire impacts on soil health, produced water treatment and reuse and removal of PFAS during pyrolysis of biosolids.
Our findings reveal biogeochemical redox mechanisms controlling Cd in acidic paddy soil and can aid in developing a strategy to reduce the accumulation of Cd in #rice and thus protect human health.
