Might be a hot take, but there’s no such thing as a 100% original artist. Every artist, living or dead, has been inspired, consciously or subconsciously, by others. We live in a world overflowing with visual information, constantly consuming it through our eyes whether we intend to or not. Our brains are incapable of not learning and everything we see in our daily lives inevitably influences our craft, consciously or otherwise.
We are all derivatives of mother nature, and in the end, art has only two purposes: to express and to be carried forward to the next generation.
