There's a lot to process on Day 8 of the @NASAArtemis II mission. With Earth in view from Orion's windows, the astronauts are packing up and reflecting on their lunar journey.

Three days until launch! Yesterday our families arrived and we had some very welcome family time on the beach in the Florida sunshine. My daughter’s rocketry skills are on point! Let’s light this rocket! CREW-12!

That’s a wrap on the Q&A with Crew-12. Take a deep dive into the human health studies planned during their long-duration science mission aboard the @Space_Station, including adaption to low gravity and a new study examining subtle changes in blood flow. go.nasa.gov/4qqvJK2

I spy... something Blue! 💙 While we waited for Ma's work friend to pick up a badge at the Badging Office, we were a little bored. We thought about what we could do with our time. We love playing I spy! Our 12 year old looked over and saw this shot. 1/8

They walk downstairs to the Columbia and Challenger memorials, and gaze on the twisted wreckage. They stand there in stunned silence as tears stream from their eyes. Sometimes a curious child looks up and asks one of these pensive people to explain. 7/8

Their curiosity is always met with stories. This is a place of contrasts. Of sadness. Of joy. It is a place of learning. We love the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. 8/8

16 years ago I walked into the Space Life Sciences Lab for the first time. I was a graduate student. I watched the Tropi2 experiment launch (STS-130) and to do our preflight verification test for BRIC-16. Here's a photo of me in the Space Life Sciences Lab from that trip.

Do I have any friends in the Los Angeles area who are needing a food pantry? My dad is serving a mission with the Bishop's Storehouse. If you don't know what the Bishop's Storehouse is, go ask your nearest Mormon. They're going to make sure you don't go hungry, ok? #Foodbank

Sometimes all we can change is our response. Looking back to a time when America chose to start launching science to understand our universe on the tip of each rocket, instead of bombs. Pioneer 4 took America close to the Moon for the first time.

This Lunar Flyby mission launched on March 3, 1959. It was the first truly successful launch to escape Earth's gravity. 🌎 🌍 It was launched on a Juno II rocket from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 5. 🚀
