Three days until launch! Yesterday our families arrived and we had some very welcome family time on the beach in the Florida sunshine. My daughter’s rocketry skills are on point! Let’s light this rocket! CREW-12!

16 years ago I walked into the Space Life Sciences Lab for the first time. I was a graduate student. I watched the Tropi2 experiment launch (STS-130) and to do our preflight verification test for BRIC-16. Here's a photo of me in the Space Life Sciences Lab from that trip.

Sometimes all we can change is our response. Looking back to a time when America chose to start launching science to understand our universe on the tip of each rocket, instead of bombs. Pioneer 4 took America close to the Moon for the first time.
