BotsIQ is a manufacturing workforce development program of the Pittsburgh National Tooling & Machining Foundation and part of the National Robotics League.
Yesterday, Serra Catholic students in Mr. Corso’s manufacturing class traveled across town to the #BotsIQ Training & Education Center to explore manufacturing. It was another great day in our world!

Today, #BotsIQ students from @ButlerAreaSD and our homeschool cohort joined Industrial Arts Workshop for an introduction to welding. Students learned different types of welding techniques and were able to put their skills to work in making a piece of art.
#BotsIQ ended the week celebrating the successful completion of three pre-apprentices in our fall cohort!
These students have been attending in-person training at our Training & Education Center every Tuesday through Friday afternoon since September.

This week, students built collaborative robots with LEGOs and coded them to move with Micro:bits. We look forward to seeing them next month!

Last Friday, #BotsIQ students from @hasd_district toured Hamill Manufacturing.
Students were inspired by Hamill’s strong culture of collaboration and family. As an employee-owned company, Hamill showed how every person plays a role in moving the organization forward, together.
Thank you to Nord-Lock Superbolt for hosting @NA_Schools yesterday. The tour showcased advanced manufacturing technologies used to make Superbolt’s multi-jackbolt tensioners and highlighted their commitment to 6S and lean manufacturing.

Yesterday, #BotsIQ hosted its annual #Electronics Training. The day gives new students an opportunity to learn the basics of soldering and building a power system for their 15lb combat robot. Thank you to Bill Fiedler, @CentralValleySD who led the training!

Yesterday, #BotsIQ joined General Carbide Corporation for a tour of their facilities. Students from Greensburg Salem, Greensburg Central Catholic, Southmoreland, and Hempfield Area got a behind the scene experience into the exciting world of manufacturing!

Today, the @SouthFayetteSD#BotsIQ team had the incredible opportunity to tour Jennison, a precision manufacturing leader in our region. Students got a behind-the-scenes look at modern machining, automation, and the skilled professionals who bring world-class products to life.
Today was #BotsIQ’s annual MFG Day at Intermediate Unit 1 McMurray.
Over 125 middle school students from Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties explored manufacturing through fun hands-on activities.
