This evening at 18.44, the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society will lay a wreath at the V2 memorial in Staveley Road to mark the 80th anniversary of the first V2 to land in the UK. Three people died, a number injured, houses damaged. #chiswick#worldwar2

80 years ago today #HartingtonRdW4 residents were coping with the aftermath of a V1. It struck No 23 at 3.31am on 03.08.1944. Two houses were seriously damaged, 8 badly damaged, others minor damage. 18 people housed in St Thomas Rest centre. Nos 23 to 27 rebuilt 1948, no 19 later
