Thrilled to share our work out in @Nature! Linking flexibility modeling, single-cell imaging, and targeted optogenetics allowed us to characterize how some prefrontal neurons, and mPFC-VTA neurons in particular, drive contingency degradation behavior. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

This paper was truly a team effort. Thank you doesn’t begin to cover the contributions of coauthors @gstuber, @SteinmetzNeuro, @daniela_witten, @mbruchas, @martaigatrz, Adam, Ethan, Zoe, and Elena, but my sincere and genuine thanks nonetheless.

Happy to have been a small part of this work! Congrats @outRaajeous and @mbruchas on a real tour de force on dynorphin signaling in striatum.
Excited to share our work in the @mbruchas lab on how endogenous opioids promote goal-directed behavior, funded by @NIDAnews. I am currently on the job market and this work will form the basis of my research program. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Excited to share our methods work out in #Neurophotonics today! We coupled a new microprism design with a long working distance objective to track thousands of cells across days in the striatum. doi.org/10.1117/1.NPh.11.3.0…

Check out our new preprint on single cell transcriptomics in the septal complex. Lots of exciting cell types and data following opioid withdrawal to dig in to!
Excited to share that my graduate dissertation work is now finally live on bioarxiv! Take a look if you're interested in learning more about the lateral septum's role in opioid withdrawal: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

Recently, we and others have shown that a variety of perceptual and motor features are more distributed in their correlates across brain regions than previously expected. Does this also apply to abstract cognitive representations? Yes! 1/
Very excited to share a preprint of my postdoc work on cue value coding in prefrontal, motor, and olfactory cortex. Thanks to co-authors @BrainMadelyn, @AnnaJBowen1, @SteinmetzNeuro, @gstuber. Feedback is welcome!

Very happy that this work is now past the preprint stage. We propose a new approach to test whether neuronal activity controls learning rates. We show that neurons in the ventral/medial orbitofrontal cortex (vmOFC) control learning rate. 1/4
We’ve updated our preprint and welcome any comments. Fortunate to have worked with this fantastic group: @gstuber, @pisanty_ivan, @rcatsimon, @BrainMadelyn and twitterless Taylor Hobbs. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… 1/10
