Chihiro Sumida has gone 7 innings in 7 consecutive starts as he went the complete game last night🦁
He's been phasing out the cutter and sweeper more in recent weeks, but that's only made him more dominant ✅
Final Line: 9.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 13 K, 115 P, 25 Whiffs

👉 Orix Buffaloes OF Haruto Watanabe and Lotte Marines OF Misho Nishikawa are tied for the most in the league
A fascinating quirk I noticed this morning while looking at Kade Anderson (we talked about him in the latest episode of our podcast)
The Mariners LHP prospect switches sides of the rubber based on LHH & RHH. Has anyone else noticed this?

I will add to the convo feels like this is 80-90% back the last puzzle piece would be a tick or two more on the fastball and getting whiffs in the zone.
The splitter is about as good as it has looked IMO just nasty. The gyro slider is the bonus right now.
with the velocity back up to 98-99 and the splitter diving this much, this feels like the first time since Roki came to MLB that he has even remotely resembled his stupendous 2022 form
(but curious if @yakyucosmo agrees and what else he needs to do to get back to peak Roki)
How Roki Sasaki threw the ball for the Dodgers tonight is what he was doing every single week in 2022 and 2023 in NPB.
It’s why the “Skenes vs. Sasaki” debate for next generation-defining pitcher was a completely valid discussion.
Sometimes you just have to let things breathe and let a player find his way. The Dodgers have the luxury or letting him do this obviously with the team they have.
I think we can see him turning the corner and sometimes it’s cool to see the switch flip for a guy.
Roki Sasaki has turned his season around tremendously over his last 3 starts, including an outing today where he struck out 7 across 5.1 IP with 1 ER
His stuff looks fantastic and his strike throwing has been on point. This is the best version of Sasaki we have seen in MLB!
Insanely smart and such a freaking good pitcher. The world sleeps buts it’s always been King Kaima 👑
Ball Knowers have been saying he was good for 3 seasons. @yakyucosmo
Kaima Taira has a 0.68 ERA through 53 IP
At 5’8, 218 lbs with a fastball that can touch 100, King Kaima is quickly becoming one of my favorite pitchers on the planet 🇯🇵
Jump provides a funky look and a carry fastball from a lower release height. The young pitching talent making MLB debuts gets better it’s one of the best groups in baseball right now.
