Whats wrong with these players man, I'm trying to learn the Ingrid matchup and this is what they reply with. Same thing with Kimberly players, I invite them to room and they are always complaining instead of thinking about learning. I can never find sets as a Dhalsim player and its driving me crazy.

Ingrid - OD Sunrise hops over low projectiles allowing for level 2 super punishes. Juri's fireball is very reactable while Terry's feels less so.

Ingrid - Simple Level 2 block sequence to burnout an opponent with 3.5 Dive bars. Along with the stun is a simple 2 stock combo that is guaranteed because stun allows enough time to build 2 stocks.

Ingrid combos are not needed, everybody is overcomplicating this Ingrid character. Just spam fireball and anti air the jumps, if they get too close just back dash and throw more fireballs. Use the plus frames to teleport in sometimes, spam OD counter if you're knocked down.

Here's an example of why drive rush in neutral needs to be fixed. Dhalsim can instant air Yoga Comet over Terry's fireball, but because drive rush froze the screen Dhalsim did a grounded Yoga Flame. In the replay take over I show if Terry doesn't drive rush I successfully Comet over his fireball, not allowing him to get in for free and force guesses in the corner. This is a flaw of the system and not a player strategy flaw. Some suggested the screen freeze should store your input and allow it to come out after screen freeze, and I agree with that. At this point we're losing to the input system and I need to spread awareness, this is ridiculous.

Yesterday was a very hype set between Naji and I in @1v1Me League. I started off the set down 0-2 but made the correct adjustments and reverse 3-0ed to win the set 3-2. Starting off this season in a strong #5 position despite having three new pro players joining the roster. (Psycho, 801 Strider, and JB) This will be the hardest season yet with even more bad Dhalsim matchups being introduced with Kimberly and Rashid. But I won't be discouraged and give up easily, this is the type of challenge that forces you to grow as a competitor and I wont let it go to waste. If I don't perform well this season there is a chance of being kicked out of the league so I will be locking in. In this league there are 3 Kimberlys, 2 Cammys, 2 Rashids, half this league are Dhalsims worst matchups so I have to really focus and prove I belong here competing with the best.

5 Perfect Dhalsim Rounds - Been cooking up some new pressure sequences utilizing drive rush after block strings to continue my pressure. Players are used to Dhalsim backing away after completing block strings but when you drive rush at them instead it throws them off. I still need to figure out how to balance this aggression with the "hit and run" style but I'm sure it will tighten up in time.

I'm currently rank #1 Dhalsim NA. If there's one tip I can give fighting game players trying to reach the top of leaderboards, it's this. Respect lower level players and disrespect higher level ones. Don't give high level players respect they didn't earn, any "correct" decision you make is a predictable one. So make it messy, whiff buttons, limit test, walk in hard, stagger pressure, force them to feel the need to mash and stop blocking. It's the lower skill players you should respect. Play your risk reward correctly on defense and offense, air tight pressure, nothing they can mash out of. Most lower skill players have trouble dealing with "correct" risk reward strategies and eventually get diffed by better decision making. Keep in mind, learning how to beat ranked opponents that take unnecessary risks will not help you beat pro players and vice versa. So be careful building habits through false positives and figure out which strategy is meant for which player.

I wish I was a talented artist that can draw my favorite characters together. Since I cant, I express myself with badly edited Simgrid. It's the best I can do :') x.com/i/status/2049883688628…

Dhalsim has a level 3 super issue even after they supposedly "Buffed" it. They buffed it by allowing faster startup to connect after Yoga flame cancel, but the buff it requires is extra range. There's no reason for Sims level 3 to be this short on a character that relies on far spaced confirms.

Finally after losing time and time again vs Deznere Kimberly I got a 3-0 win yesterday. In the same night I also got a 3-0 win vs Mr Morton Deejay, these are tough matchups for Dhalsim but I'm training everyday to better my strategy in @1v1Me . An important adjustment I'm making for my mindset is to stop trying to play "Clean Street Fighter" I don't know what that even means anymore. Sometimes I feel like my strategy is annoying and I attempt to play in a way that's enjoyable for my opponent, but that's unrealistic. I need to be unapologetically hard to deal with and not care what my opponent thinks. Other players don't feel shame for putting you in an endless mix vortex, I shouldn't feel bad either.

As much as I complain about Dhalsims bad matchups, I must admit I am also carried by this character. For every brainless Kimberly/Cammy that rushes me down, there is an equal amount of Ryus that I cause suffering to. Sometimes we just gotta admit we're carried by our character.

Finally, I found a character I can fully commit to second main. Sagat was pretty lame because he switched to a brawler archetype. Ingrid has the trap/setup style I've always wanted. Second character journey starts soon.
Ingrid, the international woman of mystery, will bring her sunlight to Street Fighter 6 on May 28. Don't stare directly at her or she'll blind you with her projectiles before teleporting right in your face. 🌞

This pretty much sums up Juri vs Dhalsim matchup, checking drive rush in neutral is a gamble mid screen. A few frames too early your normal whiffs, few frames later it trades. You respect the drive rush to manage risk reward, but that gives her a strike throw mix that lands you into the corner. The match is basically decided on drive rush getting checked or not. It's just ...ugh.

For those using ranked matches to become better players, here's an example of MR points that may interest you. I have two CFN accounts, one focused on strictly training and another focused on winning. The training account is averaging 160 ranked points lower than my main account, sitting at 1850 MR compared to my 2000 MR average. The lesson I've taken from this is I will play worse when trying to implement new skills, and my MR doesn't reflect my skill level. If I didn't have a second CFN account to train I'd assume my current skill level is averaging 1850 MR when that's just simply wrong. My focus this phase was implementing medium slide in neutral, and I lost crucial rounds by limit testing it. So if you train new strategies in ranked, just know you are allowed to lose more as you work out the kinks. It may take a while until those new skills are fully implemented with the rest of your strategy. So focus on the big picture and don't give up!

To beat Dhalsim you have to play stubborn and random, so if you beat me I legally get to complain with no repercussions. I don't make the rules.

When playing Dhalsim it's very important to recognize if your opponents are using a preemptive or reactive strategy. Of course they can switch between the two strategies, but players tend to default to one for the majority of the set. In this case the Elena player was looking for whiff punish often so I adjusted to punishing those twitch reactions. By whiffing light kick into heavy punch Sim can bait whiff punish attempts, and with delay air teleport we can bait anti air specials. I've been training myself to recognize which box to put players in and this is a very simple way to recognize strategies. For preemptive players you'll be seeing more things like jump, drive rush, walk in button drive rush cancel, fireball drive rush, neutral skip specials. For those strategies you need to wait and have reactions to counter them. You can also beat them to the punch by having your own preemptive strategy that controls their preemptives (Long limbs, fireballs, and buffers for example)
