It's great that so many more countries can share in the magic of the World Cup and also 48 teams is way too many and I don't quite know how to reconcile those two facts
It’s one thing when they have former AFL stars play local/country games but it’s a little ridiculous they’ve got them doing it in the top competition/s in Tasmania.
I’m honestly ready to never hear another word about this game or Scott Pendlebury ever again but actually thought the gold numbers for the whole team were cool? Can’t understand the hate for it. #AFLPiesEagles
I hate “honourable loss” stuff but WCE had nine MCG debutants in front of 90k and everything else against them today. Wouldn’t call it a highlight for this era but it’s something. #AFLPiesEagles
Random memory - the Pies also played the Eagles at the MCG the day Brent Harvey broke the record in 2016. Fond personal memory as it was the first game I called at the G. Malcolm Karpany debuted. Still think about you, Mal.
As a young footy fan in the 90s, the 400 mark seemed almost a mythical thing (with just Bartlett and Tuck for a long time). I can’t believe we’ve seen four others cross the mark since.
Giants’ (4-6) worst start to a season since… 2023, Kingsley’s first year, when they were 3-7 at the same stage, then won 12/15 and lost the prelim by a point.
These two giant turtles have been fighting each other for more than 120 years.
According to the zoo, one turtle stole the other’s food 120 years ago, and since that day they became enemies.
There hasn’t been a single day where they don’t fight for 2–3 minutes😂

Taipei Zoo identified these as Sulcata tortoises fighting over territory due to seasonal changes — not a 120-year food grudge. Sulcata tortoises live ~54–75 years in captivity, making a 120-year feud between the same two individuals impossible. taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/ar…en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_s…
