As it turns out, for Christopher Nolan‘s much awaited The Odyssey, AMC recorded our highest first-day ticket sales for any studio-released movie title since 2022. My apologies if you encountered a long ticketing line on the AMC web site and app yesterday. Fortunately, we still have MILLIONS more available seats for you to catch what is sure to be a global phenomenon. Ironically, the only first-day AMC ticket sales results since 2022 that topped The Odyssey were for our very own music-oriented projects from our own AMC Theatres Distribution, namely first-day ticket sales for the Renaissance concert film from Beyonce in 2023 and our two Taylor Swift efforts in 2023 and again in 2025. Other than our early sales for the Beyonce and Taylor projects, The Odyssey first-day dollars in hand outpaced those of the many hundreds of studio-released movies of the past four years.

One of AMC’s best associations has been ours with the one and only Taylor Swift. First, 2023’s The Eras Tour movie. Then, 2025’s The Official Release Party of a Showgirl event. And now, Taylor’s fans get her much awaited new original song in Toy Story 5. Opens at AMC on June 19.

Our U.S. AMC Theatres and overseas Odeon Cinemas welcomed 25.5 million guests in May 2026. Our highest attendance for a month of May in 7 years, better than any May since pre-pandemic 2019. Isn’t that just wonderful! There are huge movies coming out in June and July too. “Backrooms” just crushed it at the box office this past weekend. It was the 6th movie in the past 10 weeks to have a domestic opening gross above $75 million.

I have enormous confidence in AMC and the 2026/2027 box office. So today, using my own money, I bought 250,000 more AMC shares personally, at market price. Wow !!! Big !!! Super Mario, Project Hail Mary and so many more movies led AMC Entertainment to recording our highest ever revenues globally for a 5-day Easter weekend (Wednesday to Sunday) in our company’s 106-year history. More than 6 million moviegoers were in our theatres.

These are just some of the blockbusters coming out in 2026. I haven’t been more optimistic about a growing industry-wide box office in years. It’s my firm belief and expectation based on what I know now that 2026 will represent the biggest box office performance since 2019.

Amazon MGM Studios and AMC Theatres have a massive hit with Ryan Gosling’s new Project Hail Mary. The highest grossing movie opening of 2026. More than $80 million domestically and $140 million globally. AMC‘s global ticket revenues up by more than a huge 70% year-over-year! Project Hail Mary is only one of two non-franchise movies to gross over $80 million in the past decade, behind only Oppenheimer which opened in July of 2023. Big news. The highest praise for NBCUniversal Chairman Donna Langley and her team Pete Levinsohn and Jim Orr. Giving us hits like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (opening April 1). AND Universal is significantly lengthening the time that movies will stay exclusively in theatres.

AMC announced this afternoon receiving a commitment letter from Deutsche Bank to finance new AMC 10.5% debt due in 2031. If consummated, it would be used to pay off 12.75% debt on our Odeon subsidiary currently due in 2027. Full press release here: investor.amctheatres.com/new…

The correct answer is that on average AMC and Odeon sell about a dozen TONS of popcorn per DAY in our theatres. That is a lot of popcorn.

We took so much derision in 2022 when we invested $28 million in Hycroft Minimg. Investing in a gold and silver mine, they scoffed! Today our total Hycroft holdings (including the cash from our November sale), are worth about $72 million. He who laughs last, laughs best.

A week ago, we announced that more than 4 million guests visited an AMC Theatre globally over the weekend (Thursday to Sunday). This morning, we were able to announce that more than 5.5 million people were guests in our theatres this weekend. That is a lot of popcorn!
