This is the calibre of the looters: serial criminals stealing from a community library after it has been set on fire by rioters. Pleaded guilty. Remanded in custody until the end of August. Verbally abused the judge. Shrewd move - should ensure he gets a lenient prison sentence.

If anyone doubts the fate of those about to be arrested, I represented clients during the 2011 London riots. The CJS was brutal. Bail refused prior to court. People remanded in custody however minor their involvement pending trial at the Crown Court for heavier sentencing. 1/
