It’s a time that represents pride in the profession, a renewed commitment to safety, and a deep connection to the communities we serve. Above all, it stands for honor in the line of duty. To all who serve and have served, thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. Your work is not just a job, it's a promise to your community, to your family and to those who came before you. We see you. We stand with you. And we will never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Great job by the special prosecutors in the Deputy Meade case for repeatedly demonstrating to the jury how you can have your back to deputy while pointing a firearm at him.

Please keep the brave Columbus (OH) police officer who was shot last night in your thoughts and prayers. The officer was attempting to apprehend a violence dirtbag who fled from a traffic stop, when the coward opened fire, shooting the officer twice. This hero stayed in the fight and returned fire, along with other officers and they neutralized the miscreant…permanently. But the heroes weren’t done, other officers on scene rendered aid to the injured officer, stopped the bleeding with tourniquets, and rushed the officer to the hospital. Thanks to their heroic actions the officer is expected to pull through. Amazing job by all!! @BrianSteel_

The narrative that Casey Goodson Jr. was simply carrying Subway sandwiches when he was shot is incomplete and misleading. What often gets left out is sworn testimony from the first trial. Jason Meade testified that Mr. Goodson ignored commands and pointed a firearm at him. Mr. Goodsons gun, with an extended magazine, was recovered next to Mr. Goodson at the scene. It also matters that Deputy Meade was using his issued rifle, which in full-auto can discharge multiple rounds with a single trigger pull. That context explains the number of shots fired. These are not opinions. These are facts presented in court. A CCW permit allows you to carry a gun, not try to kill a cop with it. Facts matter.
