And just like that, 12 years, 2 medals, a whole bunch of memories and wonderful friends later; I’m done. Policing you were my childhood dream. I’m so proud to have been one of you and do my small bit. You’ll always be part of me, but time to live and move on. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

Big Sarge from @bostonpolice showing everyone how fan engagement is done. Sgts across the pond watch on in awe that he isn’t immediately restricted for not thinking about the optics of his actions and investigated for gross misconduct. I’m only half joking. #ThinBlueLine ⚽️🚨

A true ‘international man of mystery’ or more accurately, former Close Protection Officer, to His Majesty King Charles III - Jag Khangura has been made a Member of the Victorian Order - MVO. 🥇 In recognition of his service to The King! Thoroughly deserved! #ThinBlueLine 🇬🇧🚨

Fixed it. 🤦🏼‍♂️ #ThinBlueLine 🚨
Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

One of the true privileges of policing London are the unique events that you end up working …👀 Trooping The Colour is one of those spectacular events that really are unique to our city. 🇬🇧 Thank you all very much for working hard to make it a safe event. 🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

There’s something that needs to be reiterated in Policing. You’re trained to consider the National Decision Making Model in everything you do. Now we all know in reality you do that subconsciously. But the part that should stand out to you is; ‘Options and Contingencies.’ Options and Contingencies includes your own safety. Now if you’re going to or not do something, because it would be unsafe without another Officer, say so. Have a conversation with your Sergeant. Mark it up on the CAD or LOG, what you are dealing with and your rationale and what you require to do it for everyone’s safety. To quote a wonderful colleague - you are painting a picture with words to those who aren’t there. You’re a number at work, but at home, you are unique. There not being enough Police Officers is not your fault or responsibility, it is quite simply a failure in command, it’s not good enough and it shouldn’t put you in jeopardy. So remember your options and contingencies, always. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

With the @FIFAWorldCup about to kick off, it’s safe to say Law Enforcement Departments across the three host nations are going to be busier than usual! ⚽️ It’ll be interesting to see how intelligence and partnership working works across country lines! 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🇲🇽 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

Truly devastating news to hear that PC Jess Turnbull of @northumbriapol died in the line of duty responding to a serious road traffic collision earlier this week. Thinking of her friends, family, loved ones and of course colleagues at this incredibly sad time. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Hi Brick Cop, I wonder if you could post something this week for a colleague, friend and better than family now Helen Windsor? Met Forensic Services for 38 years and now a fantastic retirement beckons. This lady has been managing scenes for over three decades as well as led Sexual Offence Training for new officers (mostly in her own time such is her drive). Rest up H - we have it from here. Happy retirement to an inspirational woman!! Love from all Frontline Forensics Met Police.” Absolutely! Helen, thank you so much for your service and enjoy your well earned retirement! 💯 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

Behind every uniform is a human. Policing asks people to absorb pressure, trauma, responsibility and stress on a level most will never fully see and all too often, wellbeing is an afterthought or is not fully embraced or understood. That has to change. Programmes like Surfwell are providing real support, real connection and real recovery.  Through evidence based surf therapy, peer support and most crucially; lived experience, they’re helping first responders and blue light colleagues from across all services reconnect with themselves, boost their resilience and cope with the challenges of modern policing.  This isn’t just about surfing. It’s about people, prevention and creating a culture where looking after those who protect others is finally taken seriously. Please check out @opsurfwell and follow their journey as they continue growing to support as many as they can across the Blue Light community. The people in policing look after the public. Who looks after the people who police? #ThinBlueLine 🚨

No doubt, your week’s been spent responding to incidents most can’t even imagine. No doubt, you’ve been off late after every shift and haven’t eaten properly once. No doubt, you deserve a *huge* thank you for everything you’ve done. So thank you, all of you. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

“Seaborne infantry will hit these beaches at a date and time to be specified; ‘H’ Hour, ‘D’ Day. Airborne’s objective; is to take the town of Carentan, thus linking Utah and Omaha into a single continuous beach head.” 82 years on; #DDay, June 6th 1944, always remembered. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

Nine years ago today Ignacio Echeverría was in the right place, at the wrong time. On his way to meet friends at a skate park, he found himself in the middle of the Borough Market Terror Attack. Without any consideration for his own safety, he ran forward armed only with his skateboard and took on two of the terrorists. Because of his actions, a number of people who had already been attacked were able to escape as were many others, distracted by Ignacio's immense bravery. Ignacio was posthumously awarded the George Medal by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth Il, and was proudly described by his father as "an ordinary person who always stood up for what he believed in." He is known in Spain as 'The Skateboard Hero’. Thinking of everyone involved in those terrible events, and remembering the incredible acts of bravery to do right, no matter what. #LondonBridge #BoroughMarket 🇬🇧

Thinking of all of my colleagues doing an impossible job right now, who’ve been bricked, bottled and worse without shields. Hoping they all stay safe. #ThinBlueLine 🚨
