A Government adviser wrong on so many levels. Who’d have thought that?

Very sad, and so many more small businesses going under.

This will be Starmer's and Reeves' legacy. 25 year old small businesses that have survived recessions, lockdowns etc, but couldn't survive what these two business-wreckers have done to the economy and the costs of running a business.

This is a whole hospitality issue - so we need a hospitality wide soln. On average pub rates have gone up 76% or £13k and hotels 115% - a whopping £200k. That can’t be absorbed or passed on to consumers - it needs an urgent rethink
Thank you to @RachaelMaskell for raising the significant increases to business rates facing hospitality businesses. We need urgent action to avoid these damaging hikes and protect high streets. The Government should implement the maximum possible 20p discount for hospitality.

The entire hospitality sector is affected by business rates hikes - from pubs & hotels to restaurants & cafes. We need a hospitality-wide solution, which is why the Government should implement the maximum possible 20p discount to the multiplier for all hospitality properties.

VAT cut is the quickest way to support hospitality livelihoods, jobs and investment. It is also the quickest way to address cost of living challenge and make it more affordable to eat out, socialise with friends or go on British holiday - which PM said he was committed to
🍺 Devastating to hear so many hospitality leaders inc @ChefTomKerridge & @savestapubs talking about damage of business rates changes. We @LibDems still call on govt to reduce business rates to max using powers they gave themselves & for a 5% VAT cut to save our high streets

All I want at this point is for Labour to receive a strong message from voters and do something about it. They’ve been tone deaf so far. As a small business I feel we have been #LetDownByLabour. Let’s get this hash tag going…have you been #LetDownByLabour?
