86 years ago today 2930332 Pte Thomas McInally, 1st Bn Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders paid the ultimate sacrifice aged 22.
Saved his Company, recommendation for a Victoria Cross was denied and he was awarded a Posthumous Mention in Despatches.

On this day 81 Years ago the war was over for the 12th Battalion Devonshire Regiment. Using the war diary its easy to identify when they were. They held a service in this very church the day before.
