Preparing for my chat with David Renton at @Briztransformed this weekend re his book on the SWPs Comrade Delta affair. If we only get one point across I hope it's that the way the party behaved was of course vindictive patriarchal but also an outright betrayal of the class

🔔 SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT 🔔 Join us tomorrow, outside in the Den at 3:30pm, for this important discussion on education and its role in changing the world Social movements from across the world, and over time, have prioritised education for the role it plays in consciousness raising and movement building. In this session, we look at two key educators/theorists behind the idea of ‘education for freedom’, bell hooks and Paolo Freire. We will take some of their ideas as a jumping off point before going on to discuss our experiences and thoughts as a group: What does education for freedom mean to us? Where do we find it in our lives now? How do we learn from it and share these ideas with others?​ Nb. This session is part of a PhD research project and, with the participants’ consent, anonymised contributions will be included in the PhD thesis
