NEWS || ‘The Brutalist church above a Tesco’: Built between 1967-69 to the designs of architect Ronald H Sims, Broadmead Baptist Church in central Bristol has been Grade II listed, thanks to support from C20 Society. Intended to be a ‘Baptist cathedral of the West’, Broadmead has an unusual configuration, with retail on the ground floor providing footfall and a source of income for the church facilities above.
