Nice football / Art Deco overlap today with a visit to Wingate & Finchley. Oldest concrete cantilever stand in the country (1930) and a rare double sided stand shared with the adjacent rugby club

Historic last ever race meeting at Crayford Greyhound Stadium. Opened on September 1st 1986, it ceases to operate after tonight’s event. It leaves Romford as Greater London’s last remaining operational dog track.

NEWS || ‘The Brutalist church above a Tesco’: Built between 1967-69 to the designs of architect Ronald H Sims, Broadmead Baptist Church in central Bristol has been Grade II listed, thanks to support from C20 Society. Intended to be a ‘Baptist cathedral of the West’, Broadmead has an unusual configuration, with retail on the ground floor providing footfall and a source of income for the church facilities above. Its V-shaped beam ends of the roof are said to resemble doves in flight, while internally the angular timber cladding is reminiscent of Finnish modernist Alvar Aalto. ➡️ c20society.org.uk/news/the-b…

Few highlights of Belfast: the 1900 Murray & Sons office building at the Whitehall Tobacco Works. Now a very sensitively redeveloped office complex

Finally made it to the greatest Starbucks on earth: Markham Moor, Notts. Built in 1960 as a petrol station, converted into a Little Chef in 1989 and then Starbucks in 2019. 😍
