There are only a few pro-grade GMRS radios out there, and the Rocky Talkie 5 Watt radio is one of the best of them. This is an excellent all around upgrade from the Star Wars walkie talkies you've been rocking. bugoutbagbuilder.com/product…

If there isn’t a shelter close to where you live, it’s a good sign you should not ride the storm out at your house. Time to evacuate or plan to stay at a shelter.

This is very disappointing news. Berkey Filters are by far one of the most important items people should have to protect their families drinking supplies during a natural disaster. Pray this gets resolved quickly.

That's it! The hardest part was getting into the habit of putting my phone and wallet in there everyday, but now it's just what I do at night. And if I ever need to get out of my house in a moments notice, I can at least have the comfort of knowing that I can restart my life.

I got a 2TB portable and waterproof hard drive and backed up all my computers to it: photos, documents, the works. It cost a couple of bucks but the peace of mind of having it there is worth it. Here's the one i got: amzn.to/482wYXU

I also threw a small flashlight in there, a few hundred dollars cash, and my old prescription glasses. You could also throw in a supply of any medications you might need to take on a daily basis.

A friend of mine woke up when his cat jumped on his head in the middle of the night. Nearly the entirety of the first floor in his house was already engulfed in flames. He only had seconds to wake his wife and kids, and bolt out of there before the whole house was on fire.

Step one: I got a small shoulder bag that was small enough to keep in the dresser next to my bed. Each night my cell phone and wallet go into that bag. I also keep spare keys of all our vehicles in there as well, because I might not have time to grab them on the way out.

That's when I came up the the concept of a WUSH Bag. If I ever found myself in that same situation, how could I mitigate some of the losses? Winds up, it's pretty easy to do and only needs a little bit of preparation.
