Tonight, we saw firsthand who has the vision and strength to move this country forward instead of dividing us. @KamalaHarris will be a president for all Americans.  Let's get to work: secure.actblue.com/donate/so…

Thanks to the skill and persistence of @POTUS, @VP, and our allies, Paul Whelan, Evan Gershkovich, Alsu Kurmasheva, and Vladimir Kara-Murza are being released from Russian custody. It’s a tremendous diplomatic achievement, and we’re grateful that they’ll be back home with their families where they belong.

Every single American has a right to clean drinking water. Today, we're closer to guaranteeing that right. My Administration just announced a proposal to strengthen our Lead and Copper Rule, requiring water systems to replace lead service lines within 10 years.

You learn very quickly that there is no handbook or rules to being First Lady. Technically, it’s not even an official position. And while there are spoken and unspoken expectations that provide some structure, the role is largely shaped by the passions and aspirations of the person holding it. First Lady Rosalynn Carter understood that well. Guided by her abiding faith and her commitment to service, Mrs. Carter used her platform in profoundly meaningful ways. Her groundbreaking work to combat the stigma faced by those struggling with their mental health brought light to so many suffering in silence. She advocated for better care for the elderly. She advanced women’s rights. And she remained a champion for those causes — and many others like building affordable housing for those in need and caring for our nation’s caregivers — in the more than four decades that followed. When our family was in the White House, every so often, Rosalynn would join me for lunch, offering a few words of advice and always — always — a helping hand. She reminded me to make the role of First Lady my own, just like she did. I’ll always remain grateful for her support and her generosity. Today, Barack and I join the world in celebrating the remarkable legacy of a First Lady, philanthropist, and advocate who dedicated her life to lifting up others. Her life is a reminder that no matter who we are, our legacies are best measured not in awards or accolades, but in the lives we touch. We send our thoughts and prayers to Jimmy and the entire Carter family during this difficult time.

Unfortunately that number includes ZERO from the State of Mo, even though we have 4 vacancies. Hawley won’t even confirm law enforcement…US Attorneys and Federal Marshalls. So bad.
Folks, the Senate just hit a HUGE milestone. Today we confirmed the 100th woman and 150th judge to serve on the federal bench since President Biden took office. THIS is how we ensure justice and protect our rights.

I’m so proud of all of the Democrats running for school board seats in the Des Moines suburbs of Ankeny, Johnston, Urbandale, Waukee and West Des Moines. All the Democrats won. All the Moms for Liberty lost!

Anti-LGBTQ theology directly leads to suicide for having the audacity to be who God created you to be. The church must put an end to these theologies of hate and death once and for all. It’s time.

F-ing finally. Media starts to wake up… Presidential contender is calling for Americans to kill and harm Americans. Let that sink in. Enemy of America from within. “Now Is the Time to Pay Attention to Trump’s Violent Language” nytimes.com/2023/10/05/opini…

I just signed a law to keep the government open for 47 days. There’s plenty of time to pass Government funding bills for the next fiscal year, and I strongly urge Congress to get to work right away. The American people expect their government to work. Let’s make sure it does.

The former president called those who served our country “suckers” and “losers.” Was John McCain a “sucker”? Was my son Beau? His words are not only wrong, they’re un-American.

President Biden just now — So I’m running again and you may have noticed, a lot of people have focused on my age. Well I get it, believe me, I know better than anyone. But there’s something else I know — When I came to office and this nation was on its back, I knew what to do. I vaccinated the nation and rebuilt the economy. When Russia invaded Ukraine, I knew what to do, I rebuilt NATO and brought our allies to rally the world. [Keynote at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Phoenix Awards]

It’s time to again ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. And let me be very clear: If members of Congress refuse to act, then we need to elect new members of Congress who will act.
