The number of proposals is truly very small and subdued in Denver right now. But obviously there are still new buildings coming up. So I wanted to do a quick thread this morning as a type of Q&A—where are construction cranes in the air in Denver, and what are they building?

An analysis shows that Lower Downtown is increasingly outperforming the rest of the central business district in attracting commerce. A business organization says that could point the way for rejuvenating Denver’s core. denverpost.com/2026/06/11/lo…

More than 3 years after the city of Denver used federal funds to buy an old hotel for 9 million bucks… …the building remains boarded up. Why? Well, it’s a bit of a rabbit hole. But one we at 9News Investigates spent some time going down. 9news.com/article/news/inves…

The Suncor refinery is a smokeshow. But perhaps we're being unfair to Colorado's biggest polluter just because it occasionally belches black and yellow smoke for our lungs to enjoy. So we looked at how Suncor's pollution compares to similar refineries.

I'm getting asked a lot recently about why I haven't been posting new developments. There ain't any interesting new developments being proposed, that's why. Everything I'm seeing in permits these days is basically like this one, by 38th and Brighton Blvd, submitted yesterday

The housing market has broken into two. Sun Belt markets like Denver, Austin, Seattle, and Orlando are experiencing exploding inventory ( 30% or more from 2019 levels). Prices are now dropping in these markets. However, in New York, Chicago, Providence, and Hartford, inventory is down more than 50% from 2019 levels. Indicating an acute housing shortage where prices are still rising. The market has flipped on its head. The boomtown Sun Belt locations are now the ones dropping, while the boring Northeast markets are the ones rising. If you're a serious homebuyer, investor, or seller in 2026, you need to know the inventory trends in your area. Download our app and search your ZIP: reventure.app/mobile

w/ new bikeway project 1 block north of Colfax, now we just need nice connections S of Colfax on Ogden to 11th, at least x.com/BuildUpDenver/status/2…

Replying to @BuildUpDenver
Ogden-Colfax Intersection Hugely important surprises here! Two-way on-street bikeway on S side of Colfax, which plugs into n'hood bikeway on Ogden heading S, and future two-way protected bike lane heading N. Lot of curb changes and new signal timing, as well as three new trees.

Been waiting for this! Plans for the two-way Ogden Street protected bike lane from Colfax to 16th Ave, a hugely helpful connection for N-S biking between Uptown and Cap Hill. W/ all the new sidewalk and bike signals at Colfax here, this ought to be really safe and comfortable
