SALT LAKE CITY : Tan France is putting his fairy-tale Tudor mansion on the market, just as the Chili’s that convinced him to call Utah home is reportedly shutting its doors.
The Queer Eye star and his husband, Rob, listed their 6,903-square-foot red-brick dream home at 299 E. Oak Forest Road for $7.5 million, according to Sotheby’s.
The five-bedroom estate on 3.36 acres, featured in a 2024 Architectural Digest spread, blends “bougie-grandma” charm with South Asian, English and modern luxe touches that France curated like a runway collection.
“I chose to move here because I thought it was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in my life,” France said of Utah in the AD story.
“The people are the kindest I’ve ever experienced.”That love affair famously began at a now-closing Chili’s.
In 2006, the British-Pakistani stylist was visiting a Utah friend from New York when he stepped into the 400 South location, spotted the mountains and declared over fajitas that he’d live here one day.
The restaurant, which opened in 1995, will close May 4, though other Utah Chili’s spots remain open.
France met husband Rob shortly after that life-changing meal and built a life -and this showstopper of a house in Salt Lake City.
Whether the couple is staying in Utah or heading for a new adventure remains unclear, but one thing’s certain: the fab five alum is selling a storybook home with quite the origin tale.
I'm interested if I happen to find a pot of gold in the next few weeks! It's gorgeous!
