The SLC recorder & attorney found Ana Valdemoros eligible to serve on City Council despite buying a primary home in Draper.
That's the same reason Eva Lopez was removed from council.
And the city won't answer a single question about how that decision was made. Wild. #utpol

Valdemoros withdrew from consideration today, but not before the city showed that it was willing to make an exception that it didn't make for the Lopez.

The amount of interest in filling SLC's D4 City Council vacancy is wild. There are some serious heavy hitters on the list of applicants. Jennifer Napier-Pearce (former @sltrib editor) just applied. Clayton Scrivner, who ran during the 2023 election, filed as well.
Apparently the city views Ana Valdemoros, the former D4 rep who recently bought a home in Draper and intends to move there, as an eligible candidate.
I don't know how this is going to play out, but it will be interesting. #utpol

Oregon voters look like they'll be voting this year on whether they want to ban hunting and fishing.
I'm trying to think of something more insane than this and will report back if/when I do.

Anyone looking to house-hack? Three units on one lot at $690K would leave for very low monthly payments.
SLC has very little house-hacking housing stock but this one works very well.

Austin Taylor, a project manager with the city's CRA, just announced that he would run for the open City Council seat representing SLC's Downtown adjacent.
By far the most qualified candidate to file so far. If he is selected next month, he'd have to quit his job. #utpol

Not enough people are following “Sword Kash,” who was busted in 2020 for an illegal gambling operation and recently opened a third shop at 1700 S 1100 E called Gas-Me Up.
Kash also recently bought a multimillion dollar house in the north hills. All will crumble soon.
